I first met Bob when I was a baby barrister in Chester when he would come over and defend Warrington’s finest criminals. He never took advantage of my call and I liked him from the start. He epitomised what I love most about some barristers: he fought hard, but did not take himself too seriously. He was impressive in and out of court and was as charming, witty and interesting an opponent as one could wish for. When I think of Bob, I think of his grin and the twinkle in his eye.
