Like many in our profession, I didn't know Bob well. I did, however, know of his glamorous past and musical flair, which I witnessed first hand at a Red Corner gig a few years ago. Other than that my acquaintance with him was limited to the court building. There he was a quiet, wry, intelligent presence (where, occasionally, there can be shouty pomposity). He was charming, clever and gentle-spirited, and clearly had a rich life made all the richer for not being entirely consumed by The Job. And he clearly adored his family. My sincere condolences to them and to those who were close to Bob. To say this is a sad, untimely loss is understatement indeed. Alison Heyworth
