Many years ago, Bob and Jane made friends with my mum after she left my dad. They helped her raise three kids. I always remember him as kind, warm, funny and patient with us. While we would have been classed as a single parent family, Bob was someone who made sure my brothers and I were always cared for and surrounded by love when growing up. He didn't have to be, but he was there for us.
