I was so shocked and sad to hear of Bob's death. I knew Bob as Jane's partner and best friend from Sussex University days, as Jane lived in the flat below me. We've met up over the years in Brighton, particularly in more recent years for the almost annual Golinski brothers memorial gigs. These hot, sweaty and fun affairs were attended by old friends and a loyal following. Seeing Bob up there on stage playing his guitar, it was always hard for me to picture him in his work life as a barrister. I did however get to try on his wig when I visited Manchester soon after he had been called to the bar! Bob was kind, funny and very personable and, despite the long intervals between our meeting up, he was always comfortable to be around. I know he will be desperately missed by all his family, friends and work colleagues, particularly Jane, Ellie and Fran to whom I send my sincere condolences. My thoughts are with you at this very sad and difficult time. Martina
